I had never heard of, let alone been to La Placita Taqueria until it was suggested to me by a family member recently. To say that it far exceeded my expectations is an understatement. For someone who doesn't speak a lick of Spanish, they were friendly, patient, and beyond helpful. The service was superb. I cannot recall ever having better Mexican food. The food was okay but the service was not. We waited for 45 minutes to have our food served. The male person who took our order was not friendly at all. Other tables who arrived after us got their food almost immediately when we waited 45 min to be served. I will not be returning. View all feedback.

The grocery store is well-stocked. Food is reasonably priced. Not a lot of vegetarian options.
It is hard to find quality authentic food from other countries in Cedar Falls/Waterloo. We were so excited to stumble upon this store/restaurant which features actual Mexican food!!
Friendly waitress. Big portions. The food was hot and fresh. Best Mexican food I have had in along time. I will definitely be back.
