I stayed in County Waterford in early June and decided to take a trip to Ardmore. I was fortunate enough to be able to book lunch at The White Horses. I chose the lamb, which was the special of the day, and it was very tasty and of good value with a home-cooked quality. I also enjoyed a delicious dessert, the apple pie. I will definitely be visiting again. View all feedback.

The hostess was unwelcoming and unhelpful. She failed to clarify that the picture I snapped on my phone was the menu, causing confusion and annoyance. Although the seafood pancake was delicious, it was on the small side, with a minimal amount of seafood and a small side salad. It seemed more like an appetizer than an entree, leaving us still hungry after finishing. Given the portion size and quality, the meal was too expensive. We have no intention of returning to this restaurant.
I have been dining at White Horses 3 to 4 times a year since 2003 and I have always had a positive experience. The food, service, cleanliness, and atmosphere are all excellent. The outdoor garden area is stunning, well-kept, and tastefully decorated, while the indoor waiting area with the cozy stove is charming. The staff, who have been the same friendly and welcoming family since my first visit, enhance the restaurant's overall appeal. The dishes are delicious and wholesome, and the desserts are exceptional. I can confidently say that there are 5-star hotels that could learn from White Horses. The level of quality and consistency shown by this family-owned establishment is truly impressive.
This restaurant is one of my favorites, no matter where I go! The staff is welcoming and friendly. The food was amazing and reminded me of homemade meals. I'm looking forward to my next visit already.
I booked this restaurant based on a recommendation and also checked out the reviews on TripAdvisor. I was surprised to see some negative reviews, but decided to give it a try. However, I was not impressed. Our table was ready when we arrived, but the staff member who greeted us was not very friendly. The food was delicious, but we were overcharged for two items that we didn't order, which we only noticed after returning home. Overall, I wouldn't return to this restaurant as I found it to be overpriced and the service to be lacking.
The food at White Horses was pleasant, but not exceptional, and the service felt rushed and unfriendly. At the moment, it doesn't seem worth the price. However, the restaurant is in a beautiful setting and I hope that the overall experience will improve in the future.
