However, others praised the outstanding food, attentive staff, and breathtaking views. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, with options for all tastes. Despite mixed reviews, it seems that The Lighthouse is worth a try for the beautiful setting and potentially delicious meals. If you find yourself in the area, consider stopping by and forming your own opinion on this hidden gem in Dunmore East.
Surprisingly this was our favorite meal in waterford. We ate in the restaurant. Views are amazing and food was really good. We all had burgers. Playground outside is great and place is spotless. Service was great too. Had drinks in the bar the next night, quiet but staff are all great and views amazing. We wished we ate here every night and not bothered going elsewhere.
I dined at this restaurant last night and the food was outstanding. The staff were attentive and welcoming. The view from the restaurant is breathtaking and the bar makes the most of it. They offer a small but excellent selection of cocktails. We tried the passion fruit martini which was delightful. Additionally, there is a café that opens at 11pm serving pastries, tea, and coffee.
On a recent visit I was disappointed with my meal here. The fish was tasteless presentation was only ok. Staff were very reserved, generally not interested in their customers
To all staycationers like us be ware !!! we arrived at the Lighthouse Bar and restaurant on a fabulous clear blue sky sunny day and asked to sit outside. We were handed a menu and proceeded to sit outside. The views were spectacular we ordered our meal (from what we thought was a limited menu due to Covid and were advised we had to pay upfront) 40 minutes later while still waiting for our food the wind started to pick up so we asked to move inside which we were advised that was ok. (There were only two other tables occupied inside) ten minutes later while sitting at our table inside our food arrived into polystyrene boxes and cardboard boxes. When we asked where were our plates and cutlery we were told that as we were originally sitting outside that was deemed as a takeaway menu and therefore cheaper and a separate menu. We were quite surprised by this and told the waitress that we should have been told about the two different menus when we asked to sit outside. She was totally indifferent but the three locals sitting at the next table seemed to think our situation was quite hilarious. Our food was absolutely disgusting the chips and chicken dippers we ordered were so greasy and so obviously frozen we couldn’t even eat them. We had paid upfront as requested so we didn’t even have the pleasure of refusing to pay. My advice to staycationers is to give this Restaurant a wide birth. You can enjoy the views without entering this establishment.
We were delighted with food and location but waitress was very unwelcoming and said we had an hour before the restaurant was booked unless we wanted to sit outside. We sat outside, we had to pay up front and we asked for water with our food , she said she would bring it out but didn't. We had food given to us in boxes and no cutlery . Never asked if everything was ok , such a shame it could have been fab and there was only tow couples actually sitting inside at the time . So we didn't order desert or tea coffee , felt we were an inconvenience. Views were amazing and location is just perfect.
