Geoff's Café - Waterford

Geoff's is an all around, great place. Good food, drinks, and atmosphere. It's a favorite place when I visit Waterford and it's always consistent.

Stopped in after a tour at Waterford. We went in to have a beer at a pub and ended up having the best calamari we have ever had. Large portion of very tender calamari with an excellent chili sauce. My wife tried the vegetable soup and one other had the prawns. Everyone left happy.

We were at Waterford Crystal shopping and were hungry. Ask the salesperson to recommend for brunch/lunch and glad we did. The food is top notch and the server was so friendly. Definitely worth the walk to the cafe.

Big long time fan of Geoffs for food and or drinks, I have ordered several things including the curry, stir fry, pasta and have enjoyed everything but the chicken curry is my favourite. Its that Irish/English creamy pub curry, very mild but full of flavour. You may need to order from the bar, the place is huge and very casual so I can see how a new visitor could be unsure. Always a great atmosphere, busy and buzzing most of the time, full of cosy corners to relax and enjoy an evening.

Lovely place the food is delicious and, more importantly, there's a 21€ bottle of Montepulcciano d' Abruzzo (red wine) there which is easily one of the most drinkable wines I've had anywhere in Ireland! Several of us medical students met up for dinner around 7 on a Tuesday and the atmosphere was just what we needed pretty empty, laid back, and just a great place to wind down and enjoy the good music and great service. Not dastardly expensive but really quality comfort food the chips especially were abundant and the perfect balance between greasy and edible! Even the healthier fare was above par for pub food. Would definitely come back on a weekend to see if it picks up a bit but nice and quiet and casual for a weeknight grub.
