I WANT to love this place as it offers a diverse selection of gluten free foods and drinks. However the service here is and has been horrible for years. I went in to purchase a gift card for $10 and was informed in a gruff manner that they only offer them starting at $20 and going all the way to $100. I then ordered a drink and the staff assumed since it was only a drink I didn't want to dine in. When I ordered my chocolate drink, I was notified that it would take a few minutes to heat the drink up as if I had inconvenienced them. When I sat down I was asked if I wanted food. If I had, I would have ordered it. I feel as though I am not worth their time or service unless I order food or tip them which I absolutely did not. When I asked about the spice in the drink to confirm it wasn't a Mexican hot chocolate, I was basically told I have to ask for it to not have the spice in it or order I kids hot chocolate. What an insult! Rude. Just rude staff which unfortunately stems from the manager/boss/chef who I have heard openly scold her staff in front of guests. For gluten free individuals, I recommend getting on Pinterest and finding a recipe and create a better experience in the comfort of your own home! Ps. At the moment I'm the only one here if that tells you anything.

I appreciate the vegan and dairy-free options they offer. Everything I have gotten tastes great. My issue is with the customer service. I have called in the past and asked if they had vegan food. Instead of the employee on the phone telling me what the options were, they rudely said, “you can look online.” I got off the phone, looked online, and the website is down. I then go to their Facebook page. Nothing there. I just drove to the restaurant instead and looked at the menu and ordered in the store. I chalked it up to an employee having a bad day.Today, I called again to place a to-go order. I was driving and didn’t have time to go there, place the order, then wait for the order to be ready. The employee that answered the phone rudely said, “did you look at our menu online?” I told her I checked their Facebook and the website is down. She said, “no, Google Bistro Red Beet menu. It will pop up on a few platforms.” I said okay and got off the phone. I pulled the menu up through Google and there are maybe 3 options (but some could be made vegan by omitting ingredients). Why couldn’t the employee just answer my question over the phone? It would not have been that hard to kindly give me the options of the day. Instead, I got another annoyed employee that acted like I was an inconvenience. When I got to the restaurant, there were literally two cars in the parking lot, so the rudeness and urgency to get off the phone was certainly not because they were busy. That’s part of your job. That’s a part of customer service. I’ve worked in the service industry for 8 years. The rudeness is unwarranted. Maybe Bistro Red Beet should have a talk with employees about how they answer their phones.

The restaurant is under staffed and the portions are ridiculously small for the prices they charge!!! will not be going back.

Fantastic food, best we've had in Alaska after a week long Roadtrip. We had the rhubarb bbq reindeer Sausage and green onion soup. Both were delicious. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $10–20

This is by far my favorite restaurant! Being gluten and dairy free it is hard to go out to eat and find something that won't make me sick. The food here is always amazing and even my non gluten free husband/family likes it. We go here almost every week for a lunch date. There are multiple vegetarian or vegan options as well. The bakery items are to die for!
