Doi Moi is a restaurant that has received a mix of reviews, with some praising the food and service while others have expressed disappointment. The seafood coconut curry, lime pie, and strawberry mousse are highlighted as excellent dishes. Some diners experienced issues with taste consistency in the dishes, but noted that the attentive service and willingness to make adjustments were commendable. However, there were complaints about long wait times, inconsistent service, and smaller portion sizes compared to the prices. Despite some mixed feedback, others have enjoyed the food presentation, gluten and dairy-free options, and overall dining experience. Overall, the restaurant seems to have a lot of potential but may need to work on consistency and customer service to enhance the dining experience.

Was Harry at Doi Moi a mag?
I rarely write five star reviews, but Doi Moi deserves it. If you have a choice between the ground level or heading downstairs, just know that the ground one is very loud and lively, while downstairs felt super intimate and had a really cool vibe I loved. The drunkin noodles could best be described as velvety smooth. They didn't have quite as much of a kick as I'm used to from drunkin noodles, but the flavor was amazi... View all feedback.

What Halie Roberts dislikes about Doi Moi:
The seafood coconut curry was excellent, as were the lime pie and strawberry mousse for dessert. They entrees were brought out as soon as they were done and served family-style, though the portions are about right if you want to eat them individually. View all feedback.

The food was good (not exactly like the authentic Vietnamese I have had but still very tasty) it’s a little pricey- we ended up in the speakeasy due to how busy it was and the service wasn’t very good. I know it’s just two bartenders down there for the whole area so I understand the wait but they really need to staff it more down there. Cocktails were good!

Can only rate the food because i ordered takeout from across the street at Aslin (which is a great and convenient concept). but the stir fried rice noodle dish was incredibly salty and lacked nuanced flavors, which was especially disappointing given the steep price point.

Besides the order in the way things came it it was amazing with my girl and best friends amazing food and my friends dude knew all the good things to try and the drinks were awesome as well. I think the owner was there. Super busy. Must try if you are staying around the area. DC has beat NY for this type of food. Enjoy my

Good not great…the sticky rice was old and dry. The waitress tried to change it but she said it was going to take 40 min so she deducted that from the total, which was great! The fried whole fish was good too but uncooked inside so we couldn’t eat itall. One side of the fish had really good seasoning and the other side zero. One kombucha in a bottle was $10 and the iced teawas too diluted. Also, I don’t mind but I’m sure some people do, the bartender girl touches with her hands the lemon sheputs on your drink. I saw her twice in front of the person she was serving so I’m sure most people don’t mind?

Spectacular food, great brunch experience, and consistently amazing service. I can’t recommend doi moi highly enough. I love a lot of the food here, but I have to give a special shout out to a couple dishes: the brussels sprouts are legitimately amongmy favorite dishes in DC. No joke, they’re cooked perfectly. The tofu bahn mi is perhaps the best prepared tofu dish I’veever had (tofu is so easy to mess up! . Both the watercress and papaya salads are excellent. Lastly, the $7 daiquiris are funand refreshing. Can’t recommend doi moi highly enough.
