Feedback
Located in the heart of the DC area, DAS Ethiopian offers a unique twist on traditional Ethiopian dining, featuring an elegant ambiance with cloth linens and candlelight. While the prices lean towards the high side, the menu showcases delightful vegan options, including a well-received assortment platter. Customers appreciate the attentive service and flavorful dishes, particularly the spiced tea and mushroom preparations. Whether dining with out-of-town guests or seeking a slower meal experience, DAS serves as a classy introduction to Ethiopian fare. Though some may prefer more affordable options elsewhere, the ambiance and service make it a memorable choice.
Absolutely delicious!! Would go back without a doubt. And for being a recommended Michelin star restaurant. The prices are right.
Slightly more upscale than other Ethiopian places in DC But the service, ambience and food made the higher cost worth it.
Their vegetarian options are all inherently vegan. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The spiced tea is also really really good. I love fine dining woth low light and candles, cloth linens and attentive service. They have gluten free injera as well We tried the mushrooms, the vegetable platter and another order of the red lentils. That was enough for two hungry vegans. Definitely recommend and will want to come back next time in DC.
This has been my favorite restaurant for 15 years. The veggie sampler is delicious and it is vegan. I have a dairy allergy and eat here just fine. The food and service are outstanding it’s the best Ethiopian food I’ve had in the US. Atmosphere is great. Would like for them to label the vegan food as vegan not vegetarian.
Absolutely delicious. The pricing of items are quite odd, as a sharing platter which can feed up to three people is priced reasonably, but for a bowl of spicy lentils at nearly $9 doesn't quite add up. The mushroom starter was lovely. And yes, by the way, there is no cutlery, the experience is hands on, you eat by using this type of bread to grab the ingredients, but can be an issue if some ingredients are like liquid. Also, do not forget your ID, as I haven't been asked for my identification in years, I completely forgot and I'm nearly 30. Had a lovely cinnamon vanilla rooibos tea to finish. The ambiance is very relaxing, could easily lay back for hours at this place and the staff are very friendly.
