Was Scott Besemann at Aperto a mag?
Charming Italian restaurant with white tablecloths, but they didn't seem to mind that we weren't dressed up. The host was kind and attentive, while the server was capable, although we felt more like a task than valued customers. The wines were delightful, and the steak was well-seasoned, though it arrived rare instead of the medium rare I requested. They quickly corrected it, but refiring it made it a bit dry. The lo... What Carmine Bailey dislikes about Aperto:
Additionally, we were informed that they didn’t have mashed potatoes (kartoffels), yet when the table next to us received their meals—despite arriving 30 minutes after us—they had mashed potatoes. To be clear, the food was decent, but given the circumstances, it should have been much better. The poor service really detracted from our experience.

As others have said, food is too expensive for what you get. We went on Valentine's Day and the service was terrible. We didn't know who our waiter was and we didn't have anyone to address simple things like our table after our appetizers were brought out. The waiter fell from the desert menu, but did not come back to take our order for 20 minutes (so we decided to skip desert). The waiter told us that they did not lubricate potatoes and when the table was given their food next to us (before us, despite arrival 30 minutes), behold, they had lubricated potatoes. Don't get me wrong, the food is acceptable. At these prices it should be much better. The service, however, ruins the experience. Also, and a very small point, the lighting is super bright it ruins any kind of intimate feeling an Italian restaurant of this supposed quality should inspire.
We went there during restaurant week and were very happy with our choice. The waitstaff was very attentive, the food was served timely and the ambiance was excellent. We had an excellent tomato soup, fine eggplant rollatini and the fish and past dishes were first rate. It is a good value for the price and we will definitely be back.
Our entire dining experience for three people was memorable. Our wait staff was impeccable, with their outstanding service and professionalism. Everyone knew the menu expertly and provided great recommendations.
The food at this restaurant is exceptional, and the service is top-notch! The atmosphere is charming as well.
The food at the restaurant is exceptionally delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming.
