Washington Union Station is a restored historic architecture centre, mixed-use of transportation hub, leisure and shopping center located few minutes from the US Capitol so when you exit the station the view of US Capitol building will be in front of you. What Nastya Nikolaevna doesn't like about Shake Shack Union Station:
Poor or nonexistent signage--many of us passengers ended up queuing in the wrong lane for a while--and NO wall outlets for charging your electronic devices except inside a couple of restaurants. Belligerent homeless people roaming inside the station whom security ignored. Only one small restroom per gender on each floor. Only redeeming quality was that the women's restroom on the ground floor was decently maintained. View all feedback.
Went here because of my friends recommendation, and was very impressed. Was hard to find, but is in a beautiful space, with a great view.
Thank you for recommending some of the nicest chocolates of the lot. Really enjoyed them!
Just visited this place from SC and I have never tasted macaroons this delicious. They are pricey but worth the cost. I had to make a second trip just to get more. The ladies that work there are so nice and friendly. They are also very patience and helpful in helping you choose the flavors. Thank you!
This bakery is located on the ground floor in historic Union Station. They make sell excellent macaroons in a variety of flavors. There is limited seating in front of the bakery, but quite comfortable. I combined a macaroon binge with an excellent coffee from their neighboring shop, Blue Bottle Coffee. Great way to have a coffee break while seeing the sights in DC.
Laduree at Union Station is a lovely stop for confections. The shop is very small, but beautifully designed. Everything is very tasty and the staff are friendly. Prices are high, but this isn't convenience store candy, so that's to be expected. Location is great, and it's a nice place to wander around while waiting for a train.
