regardless of the ramshackle appearance of the outer, this was clean interieur, although a bit more austere, with a corresponding seafaring. the place is not big, but each table has an ecxellet look at them bay and the regular come and go the ferry. it is only the beginning of the tourist season, so they worked with a limited menu. we had ribs and fried groupers and both were very good. our dinner salads were amazing... Group meal which was great, but don't know about the menu.
Great family atmosphere. Super restaurant and very friendly staff.
Nice place for grabbing quick snacks, coffee before boarding the ferry or as you enter the Island. They accept only cash. Great view and nice patio seating available.
We were docked at their marina so we tried the eatery. I was not sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. I’m not into “fish fry” usually but the super helpful and nice waitress sold it. Lightly breaded grouper filets. They were cooked perfectly. Delicious. My wife had a sausage garlic and green olive pizza on their cauliflower crust.. also perfect. They even had an excellent IPA from door county brewing (heck, the bait shop has Pallet Jack on tap This family has got things dialed! Highly recommended.
Awesome family owned restaurant! You will find 3 generations of family running the show at the Ships wheel…cooking, baking, waitressing, right down to the dishes. Best breakfast and prime rib on the Island! Home made preserves served with fresh baked bread, delicious fresh bakery, good strong coffee…scrumptious prime rib and hand battered fish. The pizza is out of this world! Made with all fresh toppings! The restaurant has windows all around and outdoor seating that has the best view on the island, overlooking the ferry docks, marina and Detroit harbor!
