I saw a man wearing a World War II hat, which was a great sight to see. I ordered the Cheeseburger with onion rings and had to pay for my own meal. I went with my friend Debra Sprague Kerr, who is a veteran, and her lunch was free as a thank you for her service. We can never do enough to show our gratitude to those who have served.

I ordered the ribs and fries with coleslaw. The ribs were tender and flavorful with just the right amount of honey BBQ sauce, and the side dish was excellent. Our server was very attentive.

The food was fine, the service was good other than two orders of fries coming out 5+ minutes after our burgers. Not the server's fault, she was good. I like the Washington murals and photos everywhere. My main complaint tonight was the table behind us had a dog at their table! How is this acceptable at a restaurant? To make things worse, when the lady got up to leave she held the dog (dauchsund) over my Mom's head, and close to our table, as if we wanted to say Hi to it. We were disgusted by it and we are dog lovers with two of them ourselves. We just wouldn't bring them to a restaurant!

But in this case I unfortunately can’t because of the not so great service. I’ll make a bullet point list of the experience to make it easy to read and so I don’t ramble. : Our waitress wasn’t attentive and wouldn’t check up on us or get a refills.
