This one the best places to eat at nice and clean. And the food is always fresh and nice and hot. The owner has a beautiful personality also and so are the workers they make you feel so welcome there and want to come back
I wish I took pictures to back up my amazing review! But take my word that this place is the spot. I was blessed to be able to meet Andrene on my first visit. She treated me with the utmost respect was extremely courteous to my family I. She trulymade the visit feel like I was at my Caribbean brother in laws family?s get together. The food was AMAZING. The food was nice fresh matched the aroma you smelled when you walked in. But what really threw it over the top for me was the extremely cleanbathroom. A lot of restaurants overlook that vital piece of their establishment but not Andrene?s! I truly felt like I wasinside a bathroom in a well taken care of home. It was super clean, smelled amazing, well stocked! I got to have aconversation with Andrene about her past 16 years of business the fact she greeted me by name (after reading it from my card)truly made a difference. That is how you retain customers 100%!!
I?ve been craving Jamaican food for a while now and I happened to be in this area so I stopped here at Andrenes and I have no regret at all. It was very nice to meet the owner (Andrene) the first visit. She was so welcoming, pleasant and sweet. The foodwas AMAZING. I ordered the combination platter jerk chicken and stewed chicken. I also ordered a beef Patty, coco bread and sideof Mac and cheese. All of this for 34$ and still had left overs. (3 people sharing this). Everything was absolutely fresh andthe taste was great. To top it off, the bathroom was so clean and smelled really good. You can tell the owner takes pride in herrestaurant and enjoys her job. I WILL definitely come back to this place and recommend others to come here. After reading someof the reviews I?m kind of shocked to see how dishonest people can be. I wouldn?t let those bad reviews scare you. This place isso worth it.
Came here for lunch after my wife and I attended a workshop. Since we're not from the area this place was the right choice. We ordered a (sm)curry chicken and a (sm) jerk chicken. Food was so good, especially with the redbean rice and cabbage and thentopped with the plantains. Portions were great even for a small size. Cashier was very friendly and greeted us and everyone elsethat came in. All the flavors were blended very well and sat happily. Not finger licking good, bone sucking, platter emptyinggood. Wife and I left very happy. Just wish there was one at home.
Good food and excellent service. Nice generous portion of food for the cost of the meal. The owner was pleasant and very nice to us. We will definitely go back.

The food was incredible, and the customer service was outstanding. The staff even offered us something to enjoy while we waited. This was my first visit, and it definitely won't be my last!
I went yesterday to give it a try, and it was the best Jamaican food I've had in DC! I enjoyed the oxtail and chicken patty.
What a fantastic place to visit! It’s locally owned, family-run, and Black-owned, and even has connections to social work, just like me! The food is absolutely amazing and truly unforgettable…
Everyone in my party enjoyed there food: We had Curried Shrimp, Stew Chicken, Curry Chicken. No complaints here.
Yum! Collard greens. Curry chicken patty. Rice and peas. Everything was delicious and the service was good and friendly.

Small shop, perfect jerk chicken. PERFECT
Saw the place on signature dish and had to visit! Everything was fantastic not pictured Beef patty (must try if they are not sold out and if you like spicy food), and coco bread. The jerk chicken wings were so good, though they didn’t not want to sell me more than 12 on a fed holiday. The other highlight was the oxtail stew. My partner liked the goat curry. The owner Andrene was so warm welcoming. I highly recommend it! Parking was fairly easy during lunch time.
If I could afford to eat there every day I would.
Andrene's is the best! So friendly, so fast, and super tasty! The goat is especially tender and delicious. Great neighborhood staple. Also, highly recommend the fries.

I was on a work trip with a couple of coworkers and we decided to head over to Andrene’s for dinner. Something told me this was going to be good from previous reviews. I ordered the oxtail and goat combo, rice peas and cabbage, coco bread and a beef patty. Wow! Oxtail and goat fell off the bone. Rice and peas could not have been better. But the cabbage, I think that was my favorite. The texture was at the point where it just finished cooking and yet had a slight crispness to it, not overcooked where it can get mushy. Portions were plentiful. Service with a smile is always nice too! They had slices of cake for dessert but there was no way I could have even attempted it.
Beef patty: Terrible. Actually, very terrible. Oxtail: Tough and incredibly SALTY—way too salty. It seems like it was fried quickly instead of being properly stewed. This place feels like just another generic community food joint. There's nothing authentic about the food, service, or atmosphere. Honestly, the only takeaway from my experience here is to avoid it in the future. Seriously. Food: 1/5.
I would rate this place four and a half stars. The red snapper dish I tried was flavorful, though not outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the rice, and the cabbage that accompanied my meal was also quite good.
Yesterday I ordered the combination of curried chicken and j chicken the portions were so generous and delicious! I was able to get two meals out of that order. The staff is friendly, the cafe is clean and the food was tender and well seasoned. I will be back!!!
I visited this establishment for the first time and was disappointed. . The portion was small. My heritage is from S. America and I did not think to check my food. I got the curry chicken . There were pebble-sized broken pieces of chicken in the dish with rice and chicken and this destroyed my meal and taste. I am a cook so I know my food. Curried Chicken, rice, plantain wasI called make and she offered no replacement or return of any amount. I order food all the time as I work in DC so I don't try to get over on people. So now I will go to Crown Bakery where I know they will help you be satisfied. So sad to see people treated this way. Curried Chicken. Rice was dry, very little sauce

Andrene's is exceptional! The jerk wings are fabulous, the cabbage is delicious, the stewed chicken is tasty, and the curried goat is fantastic!
Andrene's Caribbean and Soul Food catered my father's retirement celebration, where we needed provisions for around 100 guests on a Saturday. Despite the hectic nature of weekends for the restaurant, we experienced the most professional and personalized service imaginable. We enjoyed at least 15 different dishes, and everything was exceptional! Some of the major favorites were the ribs, curry chicken, beef and chicken patties, oxtail, curry goat, and cornbread (absolutely delicious!), as well as jerk chicken, cabbage, and coco bread. We barely had any leftovers, even with an abundance of food—people went back for seconds and even thirds! The pricing was just right, the food presentation was outstanding, and the delightful flavors and aromas filled the venue. This Caribbean-themed party was truly memorable, all thanks to Andrene's. We will certainly choose Andrene's for our catering needs again!
The food is simply amazing. I ordered the whiting platter, which came with mac and cheese and collard greens. The mac and cheese was incredible, and the collard greens were perfectly seasoned. The whiting was incredibly fresh, and the cornbread was a delightful surprise. I will definitely be returning!

Stopped by for lunch had the jerk chicken and ox tails. Food was good and side portions were reasonable but I wish they gave more ox tails and they were bigger considering the price we paid. We ordered two entrees with beverages and total price was around $40 bucks. This place is small more like a carryout place, but it was clean and staff was super nice.
I absolutely love this place! It's owned by a wonderful couple who truly enjoy cooking and serving their customers. Adrine is extremely friendly and genuinely wants to make everyone happy. The food is delicious and plentiful, and it's all authentically made. Trust me, once you try it, you'll fall in love with it just like everyone else!
