What Mary S doesn't like about The Fat Radish:
Made a reservation several weeks ago to try this place with family from Seattle. Arrived at agreed time only to find the restaurant closed. No one called to cancel our reservation. We hung around in Bayfield longer than we wanted to make this ‘only time available’ later reservation. I emailed and left voicemail for the restaurant to respond to me 6 days ago with no response. I am super disappointed. View all feedback.

Talk about service and friendliness! We're doing the circle tour of Lake Superior and were on our way to Minnesota , but first wanted to treat ourselves to brunch at this restaurant. We had read good reviews online, and the farm to table concept appealed. We were early, but more than happy to wait in our RV for the 10 o'clock opening. At 9:30 a.m., the owner came out to our RV and jokingly asked if we were starving. Of course my husband said yes (because he always is). The owner invited us in before opening and said he would whip us up a breakfast. What an honour to be treated like this. My husband had 2 eggs with sausage and whole wheat toast. I had a cheese and mushroom omelette with rye toast. Delicious. They make their own bread and it was so flavourful. We also had some lingonberry jam for our toast. I had a black tea (tea leaves in a teapot with strainer) and hubby had coffee. Both very good. The crockery that held our milk and cream was really cute. It just all added to the atmosphere of this comfortable homey restaurant. The owner and I'm sorry we didn't ask his name chatted with us as if he had all the time in the world. The other staff were also friendly and happy to chat. If we were staying in the area for another day, we'd go back for dinner. Really, I can't say enough good things about The Fat Radish restaurant. It was a perfect start to our day as we continue on our journey around the lake. Thank you!

We were in Bayfield with a family group of 10. I was able to make a reservation for a Saturday evening for 10. We had the most delightful service for a diverse group of tastes from meat eaters to vegan. Our waiter gave us good explanations of the menu. Several people ordered the fish tacos with the grilled trout and it was excellent. Others had the fish piccata dish, vegetarian curry, lentil loaf. Everyone thought their meals were Vegetarian options: Also Vegan dishes.
The sign says “good food made well takes time,” and they are not lying. This is *not* fast food, but it *is* worth the wait. We had a large party for late lunch and everyone enjoyed their meal. We also sampled their baked goods and they were all delicious! This is a little gem.
