I once had an experience at Club 57 where a waitress dropped a chicken wing on the counter and just left it there. She also forgot to put our food in the fryer, serving it frozen instead. When we politely mentioned this, she acknowledged it casually and walked away. It wasn’t always like this. This place has great potential and could be a wonderful spot for our community to gather over meals and drinks as we move beyond COVID. However, on a recent visit, I ordered onion rings for $7 and was disappointed to receive a small portion—just seven thin, frozen rings that looked like they came straight from a box. That’s about a dollar each! We’ve been trying to give this restaurant a second chance for over a year now. We loved it back in 2018 for its bar, food, and service; it was our first stop when we moved to Waseca at Christmas. The atmosphere was lively, with families enjoying their meals and everyone seeming happy. Now, though, that energy is gone and there seems to be no effort to fix things. We understand hiring good staff can be tough, but it makes us wonder how they kept their standards before. The owner seems like a genuinely great guy, which makes this decline even more disappointing. We keep coming back, hoping for improvement every few months, but so far, nothing has changed.
The beer selection is fantastic, and I absolutely love the mugs! MUGS!!! The menu is concise, offering just a handful of burgers and appetizers, which I find refreshing since extensive menus can be daunting. This approach allows the chef to focus on the flavor of each dish instead of being spread too thin. I will definitely come back!
