Buffalo - Wasagaming
Buffalo
Description
Set in a resort with ample free parking, this casual spot shines for breakfast and brunch buffets and a few standout entrées (notably the fish and Yorkie). Service is friendly and occasionally exceptional, but busy periods expose understaffing, slow order times, and inconsistent portioning and seasoning — especially for some takeout dishes. Coffee and drink-refill policies disappoint some diners. With stronger leadership and tighter quality control the restaurant could fully realize its promising menu and pleasant atmosphere.

Not great service. . Arrived at 11:20 was sat right away. Waited 10 minutes to be asked if we wanted drinks. Waited another 10 minutes for our order. Was told our order couldn't be place till 11:45 cause of breakfast turn over but was denied breakfast . Got our food around 12:25 and it was wrong. The witness placed it down saying what it was and it was wrong. So the person got someone else's food. No refills on the drinks No discount for the trouble No apologies for the confusion And at the end another waitress came and took our payment..
The staff were friendly and appropriately attentive. The food was average for my main I had a sirloin steak because the prime rib was not available. The steak was unseasoned, and the seasonal veg was pretty thin on the plate for sauted red and green cabbage and a few spears of asparagus. Again, unseasoned. Baked potato was okay. Starter was the soup of the day. It was all right, but came plated in a giant shallow bowl on a dish. Not a plating trend I am a fan of. I grabbed a tiramisu cheesecake to go. It was a solid pretty okay . Atmosphere was pretty rough. A bit loud, lots of screens everywhere, music. But the biggest drawback was off duty staff taking up a table, and laundry cutlery piled up at the front entry. I did get caught up on all the local gossip and staff drama though, which was quaint. So, over all, pretty okay for a hotel restaurant.
We will probably not be back, unfortunately. Our serve was wonderful but she was ran off her feet and the bar wasn't even that busy. There was a wedding and the dining rooms had large groups, but they didn't plan for it to be busy on New Years Eve, I suppose. Our food took over an hour and a half to get to us, and it was VERY sub par. They didn't have the menu items we originally asked for, so I had the Fettucini carbonara, I paid extra for shrimp and got 3 pieces and an extra tail that was empty. It was flavorless, and fairly dry.my husband had the bison burger and it was dry and also flavorless. Our meal was $132 for 3 drinks and 2 VERY sub par meals. We felt so sad for our poor server, the manager was there, however was NOT going around to talk to tables to take some of the heat off the servers who were getting verbally abused all over the place. Super unfortunate experience, and the cost is atrocious.

Food was not good. Two meals were sent back. Maybe it was an off night. The servers were exceptionally kind and we felt bad for not eating the meals . Overcooked steak and discolored vegetables were not appealing. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$30–40 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
