Was Panagiotis Angelikopoulos at Drifter Ferments a mag?
Some establishments truly stand out. My wife and I are thrilled that the owner's creativity and exceptional standards are showcased in her brick-and-mortar location here in Warwick instead of Brooklyn or another similar place. The ferments and beverages, along with the baked goods, are definitely worth sampling, as are the seasonal offerings, like the remarkable kombucha available in the summer. We can't wait to expl... 5* for coffee, 5* for food, and 5* many times over for the intention that Tara puts into her cafe and her craft. It's great to find a local cafe that you love supporting but it is next level when you realize that the cafe has been created so the owner can share the things that are the foundation of her own vibrance and passion with patrons.Tara doesn't just know the items/ingredients of her sandwiches, treats, and drinks inside and out, she has hand curated the menu and offerings to ensure the quality and standard are above anything else you'll find in the area.I didn't know how delicious I would find fermented vegetables, sourdough, and tempeh not to mention how good I feel eating them! until I tried Tara's food. She is a true master of her craft. Some points to share: whilst the menu is very comfortable for vegans/vegetarians Tara has whole milk in addition to nut milks for drinks; ask what special treats Tara has when you go in so you don't miss her housemade tepache, kombucha, baked goods, or popsicles; you can ask Tara to bake you a full loaf of her sourdough (you'll be ruined for other bread after you taste hers)!; I have brought my own cup to reduce waste and Tara was happy to use my own mug.Tara's quiet hospitality and intention is something you can *feel* when you visit Drifters.
I just met Tara and am drinking the delicious Brazilian pour over coffee she made for me. She has so many choices of fermented food, hand made.I purchased the Miso and I’m very excited to make soup now that the cool weather is coming.I would definitely recommend this shop!
THIS PLACE IS A GEM. The coffee and non-coffee drinks are always excellent but today I got the BBQ special tempeh sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had- and that's including before I became a vegetarian. I rarely write reviews but I felt compelled to write this immediately after. Yes, you may have to wait a little bit. To me that is a sign of good quality. Everything is homemade and, trust me, it's worth the wait. I'm so excited to go back and try someone else!
