I regret not checking the reviews before staying at this restaurant. The only positive aspect was the friendly staff. The rooms are in dire need of renovation, with curtains hanging off, stained carpets, missing cupboard door handles, and a faulty shower head. The noise from traffic and people outside makes it difficult to rest. The bed was uncomfortable and breakfast was a mystery. This place is not recommended for those seeking comfort and a good night's sleep. However, if you're looking for a cheap stay and don't mind the issues mentioned, then this may be the place for you. Hopefully, they will improve the rooms in the future.
This hotel seriously needs a refurbishment. The carpets are so stained that they almost have an extra pattern on top... The room we were in should only be marketed as a single, as you have to climb over the bed to get to the other side. Not the hotels fault but, I don't know who was in the room next door but I hope that they enjoyed the film that they were watching at 2am... The shower was excellent, very powerful but the enclosure isn't properly sealed so floods the bathroom. Obviously must be a regular occurrence due to the warped floor. Staff were all very friendly and breakfast was lovely. So much potential but it needs a lot of work.
I spent one night at Thomas James for a business trip. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was clean with good water pressure, fast and free WiFi, and complimentary tea and cookies. While not fancy, it was a great option for a budget-friendly business trip. I enjoyed the atmosphere.
This is not the place for those looking for five star comfort, the room and bathroom were adequate and clean. Staff friendly and accomodating to your needs It is a listed property hence not much can be done to upgrade Lively pub and eatery downstairs Free Wifi now an important part of stay, better than most hotels
Horrible at every conceivable level: not least personal safety but also hygiene. Surprised it is still allowed to operate
