Great food, great service. Best Chinese in the area. Enjoyed an 18th birthday meal celebration with family. The restaurant was full and had a lovely atmosphere. 2nd time here and can't fault it. View all feedback.
What Jayjhilli dislikes about Emperors:
Went there after a few years. Unfortunately the quality of the food and service have deteriorated. Unlikely will go back soon; our local Chinese offers more appetising dishes. This place is not what it used to be. Steep price rise on top leads to this 2 star review. View all feedback.

This is a very nice place to eat. It's not a stunning place and the service is good but a bit weird. I've been a few times because it's good. You should go.
Love this Cantonese restaurant always go for a set menu when we visit with friends as you get a good variety. Food always delicious, staff friendly, service efficient. We always make a reservation as we tend to go on a Saturday evening and they are busy.
Lovely Cantonese food and very good service. Midweek evening so a little quiet as you would expect.

After more than 15 years of visiting this restaurant, I am disappointed to say that it has declined in quality. A group of 13 of us went to celebrate a birthday, and although we had confirmed our reservation for 6pm, we were not informed that the restaurant had no heating on a chilly evening. Despite being promised that temporary heaters would keep us warm, they did not. We ended up eating in our coats, with slow service and cold plates. To add insult to injury, the prawn crackers were served on paper plates. The lack of social distancing between tables was also concerning. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the poor service and lack of warmth, the manager was rude and unapologetic. The bill, which was not itemised, was also very expensive for our large group. Unfortunately, we won't be returning to this restaurant.
My first visit to the restaurant was underwhelming. The ambiance was pleasant, but the food was just average. Despite the Michelin star promise, my expectations were not met. The waiter seemed eager to clear our table even before we had finished our meal, making us awkwardly juggle our plates and glasses while he removed the tablecloth. We weren't asked if we wanted dessert or coffee; we had to request coffee ourselves. When we received the bill, we were unable to get an itemized breakdown and found the total to be unexpectedly high. It's possible that a large service charge was included, or we were simply overcharged. Unable to verify, I chose not to cause a scene as this was a treat for my friend. However, with so many dining options available, I have no intention of returning. The restaurant may be popular with others, but I believe it is a legal requirement to provide a detailed breakdown of charges, which was not upheld in this case.
Shocking. Expensive, fried, dried rubbish. £20 mixed starter avoid…ribs poor quality, bland, dried. Satay cheap, dry…..all cold and pretty unappetising. Sea bass was ok nicely steamed, but not a lot of imagination to flavours. Duck with plum sauce…..imagine a succulent, juicy sliced breast with a rich plum sauce but what arrived was nothing like that. We got a dry (think crispy) sliced bit of meat and an unidentified sauce tasted nothing of plums and was light amber in colour. Still a mystery as to what it was? Add to this a cold restaurant (temperature and atmosphere), cold food, cold plates, and clearly no iron for the waiter’s uniform it was a trip that won’t be repeated or forgotten! Prawn crackers on paper plates ? Anyway…..all was fed back to the waiters, and they couldn’t have cared less. Try somewhere (anywhere) else.
After hearing great reviews, we decided to try this restaurant for the first time. We were not disappointed at all. We opted for the set menu for two and every dish was not only delicious but also served piping hot. The service we received from all staff members was exceptional and the restaurant itself was stunning. We are already looking forward to our next visit. The atmosphere was fantastic!
