The Water Table - Warrnambool

First time booked into the hotel and immediately the staff at front desk gave a really good impression and advised a new dinner menu was on the go from tonnight.after prognosticating for a while after going for a run around the beach I decided to give the restaurant a go.I went the $45 2 course deal that included a drink of choice - ordered the calamari for entree but then changed to stuffed mashies , and Salmon for main. The waiting staff ( 2 young girls were outstanding) quickly got my drink , soon followed by the clalamari I first ordered , I advised the waiting staff not to worry but they and the chief insisted I have the mashies as well ( on the house) . the calamari was lightly battered and nicely cooked , the mashies were outstanding. my main of salmon equally good with chat spuds and brocolini. Finished off with a cab/merlot ( a bit expensive at $11 per glass but very nice).A very nice surprise at this great venue at super value near the beach - will definitely come back.

Had both dinner and breakfast. Both good. Breakfast a better value since it was a buffet. Prawn salad was very good.

Excellent friendly service. Meals were lovely and atmosphere was very quiet and serene. Décor was very classy and tasteful. The wine list had some excellent local wines from the Coonawarra and Mount Gambier region. I look forward to returning and sampling more.

We had a nice family meal here recently when we stayed in the motel. The restaurant is very nice, and quiet.There weren't many people here but it seemed to take ages to get our meals.Also my friend and i ordered the same and her meal was twice as large as mine. We both had salmon and hers was heaps bigger and she also got a lot more vegetables so not sure what was going on there. Luckily she is only a small eater so we swapped plates. Overall nice meals though and friendly staff, just don't go if you're in a hurry.My dad had breakfast here and he said it was fantastic!

Lovely decor, beautiful colour scheme. We had special of two courses for $39 both our meals were good with nothing to complain about. Would eat there again.Two things I would change height of chairs to table a bit low, and also add a screen between reception area and hotel lobby area to dining area, as this is fine for breakfast dining but evening dining not so. Whilst we ate a bus group came in and they were sorting out rooms just a few meters away from were we were dining not good ambiance. Wait staff pleasant, efficient and friendly.
