only from the A57. our party went for a cozy Sunday dinner, which was just as good as the service was on the slow side, although efficient and helpful when they appeared. a large menu a door opening in the parking lot...was constantly opened and closed, which became an irritation main course. meat was better than the average herbal dishes. desserts were pleasant. the prices were okay. Ordered starters, mains and pudding. Starters were cold so sent back. One of our party ordered mixed grill which was not cooked to standard and the chicken (not usually on a mixed grill) was boiled, also asked for beans instead of peas but that was...a stretch, also the steak was asked med/rare this was well done but nowhere near med rare. Some meals were cold. When the puddings came, the homemade trifle was embarrass... View all feedback.
Visited to eat at Lal Sher in the Red Lion on Mother’s Day. Had pre-booked but had to wait 30 mins to be seated. No one took our drinks orders. Finally was able to request some poppadoms after being sat for 30 mins and ordered starters and mains. Starters took an hour and then we had to wait a further 5 minutes for cutlery. Sauces for the starters came out as we were finishing. We were still not able to put in a drinks order so we had to go to the bar for drinks. Mains took a further 1 hour and 20 mins. In contrast to our last visit here, the food was bland and the chicken was gristly. The biryani was tasteless. We advised the staff, the meal wasn’t a great standard and it was annoying we didn’t get any table service for drinks. Keep having to leave the table to queue at a busy bar was not ideal when we were finally able to eat. During the visit, I went to the toilets and found them dirty. Full of cobwebs and unclean. The bins were over flowing and there was no hand wash. On the way back, the kitchen door was open and I looked in. On the floor was discarded food and the whole kitchen looked to be disorganised. On the way back to the table, I noted there were multiple dirty plates piled up on tables and food around tables on the floor. They clearly didn’t have enough staff to operate on a busy evening and even though people were paying to eat at the restaurants, they continued to serve takeaways who were getting served much quicker than sit in customers.
Indian food was ok service was terrible young staff ok the older male had a bad attitude. Ordered an Irish coffee got a milky coffee with baileys
Lovely food and staff! Highly recommend a Sunday Roast and the curries!
