editing my previous review because we have visited again, and it has improved a lot! they do not need reservations for din-in, eating is served on real dresses, and the restaurant is much less scattered and scary than before. eating was perfect as usual. there are vegan options, and the workers understand veganism perfectly. the chick can be made vegan on request, and there are sweet dishes on the menu. at $10 for a... What User doesn't like about Palace Dumpling:
this is their classic Chinese dumpling with veggie knödeln and various other veggie-friendly dresses like fried rice (ask for no ei,) picked gurkensalat, tofu skin and much more. the veggie dumplings were delicious, but not super filling because they were only filled with cauliflower and others (fresh veggies, would have loved knödel with tofu as protein to make a bit more filling. all in all, although a firm spot on... I love this place so much. The food is sooo delicious, expensive great, and the service is fast. Very recommend the shrimps and pork dumplings as well as the sesame noodles.
The lamb with squash dumplings are my favorite, followed by shrimp, egg and cucumber (that is a typical combo. It is great to order for a group with a whole bunch of different emptying fillings (try to ensure that at least two different meat categories are ordered. Attention, it's not a place that I would suggest if I went for an order, unless ordering more than one meal, as you end up with only one plate of a single type of 12 dumplings. I called and took off. Also I usually combine the chili oil with the soy sauce together for the dumpling diving sauce. In the pictures the dumplings are placed in a bowl after they go and mention a picture with a few dumplings and the two side sauce. It is in a rather busy shopping center in the evening, so the parking can be a little hectic when it goes around 5:00.
Fantastic and authentic. We have ordered so many times here and never disappointed. One of our favorites is the pig with sour cabbage. Usually we order from here about once a month or so and get 2-3 Dumpling varieties for our family of 3, plus spicy noodles, and have enough for the next day. Only negative is when you order fried dumplings, they only freeze one side, but they are so delicious independent.
Honestly, the most delicious Chinese in the area. The fantastic selection of steamed and fried dumplings also has some other authentic Chinese dishes. This place is specialized in dumplings so it is not your typical American Chinese restaurant. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Come back.
I absolutely love this place. The dumplings are so good. We have tried a variety of pork, beef, and the veggie ones. I personally like the steamed variety the most, seems lighter and juicier! The wonton soup is awesome too. Take all the sauces, mix them together and dunk those dumplings till they give up their secrets!
