I told him tha... read more Stop in to have a coffee and pudding, young man explained that they had no puddings, when I pointed out the desserts he said that they had those. I told him that is what I meant but should have said that. When I asked where to sit he explained that the bar would be best rather than sitting in the café part. I would have preferred the café part but was happy to sit in the bar area, although some staff past us and appeared friendly no one asked if we needed anything. Whether this meant that the bar rules require you to order at the bar or not was not clear. During this time people who arrived after us and were seated in the café area were enjoying excellent service. Having decided that no one was going to speak to us, I returned the menu to the young man who thanked me, I was not questioned as to why I was not ordering nor if I enjoyed my stay. I do not expect special service, however I do expect some service.

I quickly found out I was sitting at a "dressed up pub". Laminated menus (yuk!), order-at-the-bar (even coffee) made me feel like I was at the local RSL bistro (which I love btw when I'm at an RSL bistro) except something wasn't quiet right the food was horrendously over priced, a $25.90 lunch risotto that no way stacks up to the same price Cafe D'stasio has there entree equal portioned set at. After not wanting a full blown main meal (my almost only choice) because it's lunch time! I was left with corn fritters, a $20 Burger and chips or a steak sandwich. So alas I gave In and still only feeling like something i had the cheesecake for #whynot All in all apart from these factors a spoilt city person (myself) takes for granted the food was on par with your local metro hole in the wall and the coffee a pleasant surprise being very very good.Won't be back, but if you don't mind the factors that annoyed me go ahead you will enjoy your meal.

The chorizo prawn risotto was particularly delicious. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as 5 out of 5.
