Th... read more First of all, the tavern is a fantastic spot to unwind, and the food is amazing. They served my favorite beer, Waikato, which is the best ale in New Zealand. The staff were friendly and attentive too.

However, the decor could use some refreshing; the chairs had stains, and the... read more The atmosphere is welcoming, and both the bar and kitchen staff are very attentive. However, the decor could use some refreshing; the chairs had stains, and the dining room could benefit from some upgrades. Overall, the meals were good, and the steak was cooked perfectly. One member of our group ordered a lamb burger that was supposed to include tomato, lettuce, mayo, cheese, and caramelized onion. While the burger itself was tasty, it arrived without the caramelized onion or tomato. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she merely shrugged it off.

Unfortunately France lost against the Black Ferns but i... read more We really enjoyed our time in the Halcombe Tavern thanks to a warm welcome, good food and a rugby match! Unfortunately France lost against the Black Ferns but it didn't change the fact that we had the best time ! We can only recommend to have a friendly chat at the bar and a couple of drinks!
