"The thickest, award-winning cake in North Queensland—do I think it's a meal on its own? It certainly is, packed with either rich flavors or juicy chicken, depending on the type you choose that day!".
What User doesn't like about Wangan Bakery:
I had quite a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I had to pay at the cash register, which added an extra $2.90 to my total. The cake I ordered was filled with a pre-mixed, bland, and gritty filling. The staff member who served me appeared to be frustrated and unhappy. Overall, this wasn't the experience I expected from a business in 2022. View all feedback.
Amazing pies, pasties and cakes. Very happy we stopped!
Pie was full of cheap filler, lamintons tiny, then there's the cash only scam.... but conveniently they have an atm in the corner for $2.50 which they take some profit from also, clearly dodging tax yet charge well above a quality bakery. If she cracked a smile it might break a window. Poor food and service. New local and I'm not coming back.
The staff at this bakery are incredibly friendly, and the quality of their pies, pasties, pastries, cakes, and other treats is truly outstanding. Plus, they even offer a free coffee! You won't find anything better. If you're passing by, definitely stop in; even if you're not, it's worth a five-minute detour. They open bright and early, so enjoy your visit!
I encountered a restaurant that only accepted cash, which was quite inconvenient. When I requested a change in my order to apples, the server had to go to the back and return, which made me uneasy about potential exposure to COVID or the flu. Consequently, I decided to forgo the apple turnover. Additionally, I noticed some tax avoidance practices that were concerning.
