Black Peak Gelato - Wanaka

This place was pretty busy every time we passed it but I decided to try it and was so glad! The staff first told me that they could scoop out of the back room but this wasn’t apparently true, and instead said they could use a new scoop and scoop from an area in the carton that wasn’t touched. They were very nice and assured me there was very little chance for cross contamination and I got some raspberry gelato. There were maybe two flavors that day that contained gluten so minus the waffle cones I felt pretty confident.

Great experience and service, lovely lady was able to easily advise on which gelatos were gluten free (majority were just minus ones with biscuit) used a clean scoop and offered without having to ask to take it from a fresh tub in the back. Thanks so much!

Our favourite gelato shop! Lots of options available and staff let you know what your options are. Separate scoop per gelato but they will also scoop from out the back. Gelato is served in a cup.

No gf cones but will scoop out of the back if you ask.

First experience getting gelato since coeliac diagnosis. The server was amazing! Turns out she was also coeliac. My gelato was scooped from a fresh tub out the back to avoid any potential cross contamination. An easy, straight forward experience. Much appreciated and I’ll be back!
