I went after too happy cow to make my assessment and saw the milk question mentioned. I said the business and the guy said they don't use milk in the rolls anymore. I asked the kimchi to see if it has fish sauce in it (the fresh things I don't buy) and he said yes, and if I want the vegan Bao beans vegan, then I should ask when I go there (too late.) I recommend 100% the Bao beans, only they will get it all confirmed... View all feedback.
Afterwards, I visited Happy Cow to write my review and noticed the milk concern mentioned. I contacted the restaurant and the owner assured me that they no longer use milk in the buns. I also inquired about the kimchi, to confirm if it contained fish sauce (the Kimchi I typically buy does not). The owner confirmed that it does, and advised me to request vegan options when ordering the bao buns. I highly recommend the bao buns, but make sure to double-check the ingredients. I will share a photo soon.
Do not visit this restaurant as they mislabel items on their menu as vegan when they actually contain animal products, such as milk powder in the bao and oyster sauce in the vegetable dumplings.
I tried the vegan bun and it was delicious! Just a heads up - the kimchi contains oyster sauce.
