There were about 5 places we had to portage around downed trees and had a few semi-submerged logs to go across. But it was a great time and I'm planning on going back. Long pants and durable water shoes/boots are advised in my opinion.

Some of the trail markings are down or hard to see but generally are visible so little worry of taking the wrong turn. Only saw a couple of harmless water snakes, and a white heron out towards mile 6. Had three obstacles in the first two miles; fallen trees which forced us to either exit the boat to go over or around, and once we had to drag the kayak through a short path on to the other side.
