Always visit here for dinner when in town off the Bibbulmun Track. A one man band who politely and efficiently serves the table, the water, the wine and cooks and cleans up. Food is always good and there is always local fish. Perfect! View all feedback.
What Elly H dislikes about Top Deck Cafe:
The Top Deck Cafe is now a Thai Restaurant….we went for a lunch time meal and unfortunately were very disappointed in our meal… our meal came out before our entree…. The spring rolls were over cooked and our Pad Thai had no flavour…very disappointed. We had to order this the day before because we wanted to order from the menu..otherwise the meals on offer are in the bain marie. View all feedback.
Great little cafe on the second level of the building in the Main Street of Walpole.
Really wanted to like this place! I'm a huge fan of mom-and-pop shops so I swung in for a cup of coffee and maybe a pastry.
The food was amazing, the service was great, and the atmosphere was lovely. My wife and I had the crayfish and local fish, both of which were incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. Our friends tried the burgers and they could tell they were homemade and not just frozen patties. It was a fantastic lunch overall, and we would definitely recommend this cafe.
On Australia Day, we dined outside at this restaurant. Our meals were pleasant, not extravagant but delicious. The wait for our food was quite long, but understandable given the public holiday. Fortunately, the restaurant was one of the few open for dinner that day. Despite my 2-year-old daughter's restlessness, the young waitresses were very sweet to her, greeting her with smiles and waves.
Our family of 8 left feeling terribly disappointed considering it cost us $200 to order burgers and toasted sandwiches in which we could not eat. I had a veggie burger made of mash potato and beans and my brothers chicken burger was inedible. We read previous reviews and thought we were going to enjoy our meal but we were left extremely disappointed. The waitress was pleasent but the owner/manager was very dismissive. All round a very very dissapointing experience. I hope the next owner pulls it together for the town.
