L.a. Burdick Handmade Chocolates

During the week following Christmas, everyone in the house was sipping on their Burdick hot chocolate and enjoying the festive atmosphere at Maus. The restaurant offers friendly service and a variety of baked goods that perfectly complement their selection of hot and cold drinks. While prices may be higher, the attention to craftsmanship and presentation is definitely worth it.

The restaurant is a beautiful place with a tea room and a chocolate shop, all interconnected with different doors for easy access. The chocolate shop offers a variety of handmade, delicious chocolates and also serves coffee, frappuccinos, hot chocolate, and other tasty treats. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the place is consistently clean. The atmosphere is elegant and the chocolates made with alcohol are a unique touch. Every piece of chocolate is handmade, beautiful, and delicious. I appreciate how they support elephant conservation with their chocolate.

The food is delicious, but expensive. There is limited seating both inside and outside. The chocolates and coffee are top-notch.

Chocolates and coffee/hot chocolate are the best I’ve ever had. Lifetime foodie/chef and have traveled extensively. Choc chip cookies are the best. Macarons and cakes are hit and miss. Mostly old. Macarons improperly made. Beautiful ambience. Beautiful town.

Amazing chocolates and scrumptious desserts. I would compare the quality of the chocolates to La Maison du Chocolat and the cakes to offerings at good French patisserie or German konditorei. This is our first time to the Walpole shop, but we have been to the shops in Boston and Harvard Square many times and have never been disappointed.
