Service was excellent. Large portions of food. Their Classic Eggs Benedict had ham (luncheon meat) instead of Canadian bacon or a ham slab. Sauce was good with just a hint of lemon. The California Omelet was a little pitiful. There was a tiny slice of avocado on the top, and not a lot of cheese. By the time we left it was packed. We arrived there a little after 8am. The restaurant prides itself on impressing customers with their delicious dishes, and I have to say, it's true. I am a fan of their taco salad, which is made with fresh ingredients and served in a generous portion. It was so tasty that I had enough leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day. I also tried their cheeseburger salad, which was another winner. Both of these salads are quite hefty, weighing about 2 lbs each. So, be prepared for a substantial meal when you order them. Additionally, the bottomless soft drinks are a nice added touch. The cozy atmosphere and comforting food make for a perfect dining experience. My only suggestion would be to offer more seasonal specials and provide online coupons for customers.
I have been dining at Black Bear Diner since it first opened and I have never been let down. Although their breakfasts are famous, my experience on Thanksgiving was exceptional. We had to make alternative plans to our usual at-home celebration and we were pleased with the delicious food and great service. Our server, a charming young lady, made our meal even more enjoyable with her exceptional service. Unfortunately, I do not remember her name, but the receipt shows that she was the host at 5:30 PM at Table 35/2. If the manager can identify her based on this information, I would like to give her extra praise for her outstanding service and pleasant personality.
As a resident of New York, I am familiar with diners. Black Bear Diner is a truly authentic diner experience. The portions are large and delicious, offered at a surprisingly reasonable price. The coffee is always flowing. The servers are confident, graceful, and skilled - it truly takes talent to be a good server. The lively music brings back fond memories. Whether you're there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Black Bear Diner does not disappoint. The desserts look amazing, although I have yet to try them myself as I am always too full from the generous portions. I highly recommend Black Bear Diner. No matter which location you visit, you can expect great value for your money and delicious food in your stomach.
Good food. Loved the Pot Roast!! And the manager was kind enough to comp my dinner because of Veterans Day even though he did not have to! (The restaurant only offered the meal from 6am-2pm. Very grateful!! Thank you Black Bear!!
