Kingsland Chinese - Wallsend

Prawn toast with no prawn. And I mean none. It was butter with sesame seeds on toast deep friend. Burnt. Gross. Rice had paper smashed into it. A receipt? Gross.

Picked at random. Went inside and there were only two people dining.....thought we'd picked a dud. However, food was fantastic. All the ingredients were, tasty, hot and fresh. All the vegetables were crisp and fantastic. Duck curry was amazing. Daughter even said later it was the best meal she's ever had out! Staff were friendly and helpful. Will go there again for sure. Only comment would be to get the kitchen to ease up a bit on the honey in the Honey chicken. There was too much. PS this was my daughter's favourite.

We called ahead and booked a table and the tone and manner of the girl was poor but we decided to go as the reviews on TripAdvisor were good. First impressions are the restaurant was untidy, dated and we should have gone somewhere else. We waited to be seated mind you there were 3 staff walking around looking busy and only 2 tables occupied. Once we were seated we waited 15 minutes for a waitress to bring over a menu. We then ordered drinks and 5 minutes later they delivered one drink while the other 4 members of my party waited for theirs. After continuing to waiting for another 8 minutes with no action from the staff, we got up and walked out. The service was appalling and we strongly advise people to go somewhere else.

Kingsland Chinese is a great hidden gem.. recommended dishes XO prawns with the black fungus and snow peas and our absolute favourite Tofu and Vegetables hotpot.. we visit every week when we can as its great value.. Forget the house wine order a bottle and keep the top.

Went as a group of 4 people using a Groupon voucher. No problems with the meals , good value for the voucher price. Management needs to look at service quality .My pet hate. Drinks served from a tray with the wait staff removing the drinks by grasping the glass around the rim of the glass , all fingers around the edge where you drink from. Had the free wine which was just passable. By our reconing we had 6 beers but management said we had 8. Wait staff fault ? ,who knows. All in all not too bad for the price but keep track of your drinks
