I tried the three-meat roast and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the lamb, which stood out as the best. I had a lovely chat with Ian, the manager, who was really friendly—just a little more of that smile would be great! I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu. I didn’t notice the sign indicating to wait to be seated, so I approached a table by the wall. The manager, who was sitting nearby on his laptop, asked if I was alone. When I replied that I was, he curtly pointed out that I had “just walked straight past the sign” and insisted I find a smaller table instead of taking up a table for four. I was taken aback by his rudeness and decided I didn’t want to stay. I went to the counter to ask if I could take my order to go. The waitress agreed, but the manager interrupted, instructing her to inform me that it was table service only. I was shocked by his demeanor; it wasn’t just what he said, but how he said it that made me feel unwelcome. I told him I would be leaving since I didn’t feel comfortable, and he simply replied with "goodbye." It’s surprising that a manager who relies on customers would treat people in such an unkind manner. In the future, I will be choosing one of the many friendly, welcoming cafés in the area instead. After I mentioned it was my friend's birthday, they surprised us with a complimentary cake in a box, even after we had settled the bill. Such a thoughtful gesture; thank you so much! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Unsure about vegetarian options, but the food was delicious overall.
