**A Culinary Experience at The Outdoorsman: A Mixed Bag of Delights and Disappointments**
The Outdoorsman presents a diverse dining experience, appealing particularly to breakfast lovers. Diners rave about the fresh veggie omelets, light buttermilk pancakes, and robust biscuits and gravy, often citing the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. However, dissatisfaction lurks, especially for families with children—where overpriced kids' meals and disappointing hash browns mar the experience. Despite some mixed reviews on certain dishes and service hiccups, the allure of their delicious soups, alongside the chance to dine outdoors, makes this spot worth a visit—though with a hint of caution for families.

My mom ordered a meal that included hash browns, which were very greasy and tasted like old fryer oil; truly undercooked and inedible. While her bacon was cooked well, it also tasted quite stale, and the toast left much to be desired. We brought our concerns to the waitress regarding the hash browns, as they were truly the worst we've ever encountered. Unfortunately, she informed us that we wouldn’t receive any discount on our meal because the hash browns were complimentary.
I've been visiting The Outdoorsman for years, first as a tourist and now as a resident of Walker, and I think it's fantastic! Although I’ve never had lunch there, the breakfasts are amazing. And the service? I’ve always received nothing but the best!
Caution advised! Especially if you have children, I would recommend avoiding this restaurant. The kids’ meals are a complete scam! At $5.99 for each meal, your child gets just one sausage link and a small box mix pancake. My children, aged 5 and 6, barely touched their food, and together we paid a hefty $60 for five people—and we all left still hungry. In hindsight, I should have just paid for the drinks and left right after the food arrived. To add insult to injury, the waitress took a $7.50 tip for doing practically nothing. I have never been more disappointed in a dining experience. This place feels like a total tourist trap, designed to lure you in and take your money with no intention of providing good service or food.
Breakfast. This place was recommended by a Loca and we were not disappointed. Our veggie omeletts were excellent. My husband noticed that the veggies were fresh, like right before the vine. Buttermilk pancakes light and fluffy. It was nice to hear the banter from the staff and the locals. Comfortable, turnkey atmosphere. For breakfast it was a winner for us.
