We have been dining here for years, even hosting our rehearsal dinner at the 502 years ago because of our deep love for Chase On The Lake. However, over time, we noticed a decline in food quality and cleanliness. So, we were thrilled to hear that new ownership had taken over this place that's close to our hearts. I flew in from Texas this afternoon and made it my first priority to eat here. The pictures on Facebook didn't lie—the food looked delicious and was even better than it appeared! The restaurant was cleaner than we've seen in a decade! Despite it being the 4th of July weekend and the place being packed, we only waited 45 minutes for a table of nine indoors. The staff made us feel welcome without rushing us. All the servers are new, cheerful, and know the menu inside and out! The new manager greeted both old and new friends, and the manager working the line was all smiles—quite rare! Amanda, the bartender, prepared a fantastic cocktail. The Alfredo sauce was outstanding—homemade and the real deal! The walleye was fresh from Lower Red Lake, and gone are the days of the old greasy pecan-crusted fish. The homemade tartar sauce was so good we could have eaten it with bread! Instead of spending a lot on fish at Boulders, save your money and come here. I had the walleye sandwich without the bun, and the cheese curds were so good that we ended up ordering two more baskets! We plan to dine here a few more times before we leave town.
We had an excellent dinner at The 502 during our weekend visit to the area. Situated within the Chase on the Lake resort, The 502 offers both indoor and outdoor seating with a lovely view of the lake. We opted for outdoor seating to fully enjoy the ambiance. Although we were informed that the waitstaff was a bit busy, they assured us they would do their best to serve us promptly. I ordered a coconut margarita (made with tequila, lime, and cream of coconut), and it was absolutely delicious! The rim of the glass was coated in toasted coconut, which was a nice touch. For my meal, I chose the BLT on cranberry wild rice bread. It was perfectly toasted and served with garlic aioli, tomato, lettuce, and a generous portion of crispy bacon. The fries were also fantastic! Overall, The 502 is a great restaurant to consider if you find yourself in the area.
