While the location is on the Alsea River, I'm not sure how one can actually see the Yaquina Bay Bridge from there. However, Waves Restaurant and Lounge is a beautiful establishment that invites you to enjoy breathtaking views of Yaquina Bay and the impressive Yaquina Bay Bridge—especially stunning at night! They also offer a delicious menu that is sure to satisfy your taste buds. View all feedback.
What Truformdan dislikes about Waves:
I expressed that a simple phone call would have been appreciated, as we wouldn't have planned to dine there otherwise. Her response was surprising; she claimed she didn't have time for that! I then decided we wouldn't be returning, and her reaction was appalling. She shouted at me, saying, "That's great, we don't want you back, you entitled...!" We should have known when restaurant was nearly empty. Ordered the soup and salad. They were out of salad. And soup spoons. The oyster crackers were stale and the chowder's only flavor was salt and sand. And, the cabernet was served chilled. Not going back.
We have enjoyed visiting Waves restaurant over the last few years. It's one of our favorite dining rooms because of the ambiance and the view. The new owners have done a great job of providing quality food and excellent service. Best wishes for much success!
Restaurant states open at 5 am. Was not open even at 7 am? Resort? States free breakfast? No breakfast here and no hot coffee! Nothing!
Outstanding experience. Staff was attentive and efficient. I got my food quickly and it all tasted amazing! Will definitely return
Used to be great, but after it was bought out by some rich guy from LA, everything seems to be going downhill. Seen the manager verbally berate employees in front of customers, which was appalling. Now we learn that the two waitresses that we specifically went to this restaurant for, were fired so the LA owner could plant his own people in. This is no longer a local community centered business, and I suggest doing some research and supporting a restaurant that contributes to Waldport and the local areas. Will not be back
