I have to admit, I've never visited the bakery in person, but I've been purchasing their bread from local stores for a little while now. Initially, I was really enjoying it, but during my last couple of purchases, I've noticed a strong bleach flavor. I first experienced this with the French Peasant bread, and I thought it might just be specific to that variety. However, I bought some Aroostook Wheat yesterday, and I encountered the same issue. I'm not sure if they use bleach for cleaning surfaces or equipment, but I'm beginning to suspect there might be some cross-contamination. Alternatively, it could be that something in the bread-making process is causing this bleach-like taste. Regardless, I'm disappointed and likely won’t be buying this brand again.
Oh my gosh! We've been visiting Maine for the past few years, and we always make it a priority to stop for bread and rolls. Is there an adjective more fitting than outstanding? If there is…
It was my first visit to the restaurant. The food was excellent, though the prices were a bit on the high side. The service wasn't particularly friendly, but it was efficient.
