This is a hidden gem nestled in the Rocky Mountain backroads. The decor was dripping with mountain old country charm. The food was awesome, and Karen, our waitress, was very accommodating, Their Reuben was one of the best I've had. They even had sweet tea (which is hard to find this far north). Even the wood beams had fine hand carving. We had some blackberry cobbler that was incredible. Service: Dine in Meal type: L... View all feedback.
What Jennie Hill doesn't like about River Rock Cafe:
I had a rather disappointing experience at the restaurant. During dinner, the meal didn’t meet my expectations, and the service was frustrating. I had a rather disappointing experience at the restaurant. During dinner, the meal didn’t meet my expectations, and the service was frustrating. Breakfast the next morning was an improvement but still not impressive. I ordered a Denver omelet, but the ingredients felt cold and seemed to be simply wrapped in eggs rather than cooked with them. The bacon was prepared as I requested, which was a plus. However, the staff appeared inattentive and seemed more focused on rushing through their tasks rather than providing good service. They didn’t ask if I needed anything else, which left me feeling overlooked.
I absolutely love this place! I always go out of my way to eat here. I'm so grateful they are still in business! The French dip was incredibly delicious, and my partner said the Walden burger was perfect!
The atmosphere is intriguing, featuring a unique chandelier and some interesting cowboys dining there. However, the food was disappointing. The fried dish was decent, but the heavy part tasted like a powdered mix and the canned succotash side was bland and quite unpleasant. The salad was good, though. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you're really hungry, as the food is not very satisfying.
This little jewel is fucked away in this little town. it is a beautiful restaurant with amazing eating. steaks were cooked to order and delicious. I would definitely recommend to stop and try this place for myself.
Quick stop for a meal and the staff were hustling to accommodate lots of travelers. Food was average, hospitality plentiful, and atmosphere spot on for this part of Colorado. Would recommend for folks making a pit stop or in the area.
