Alpenrose | THE restaurant

The tour in late November was nowhere open for lunch. We were glad to find it. We were proud. A good selection of traditional mountain foods such as barracks and Kaspressknodl soup, but also some adventurous dishes.

Very slow to serve burgers and toast for 7 people. And also quite expensive. Fries were good burgers were not so good..

Bad example of hospitality. We sat and wanted to order, but the waiter didn't even look at us when he cleaned our table. We asked him about drinks and were dullly spoken. We never had such a direct feeling of dealing with such a place. I hope the manager reads this and listens. Otherwise, I hope the place will soon be closed.

We have dined in this restaurant about 5 times so far. No big complaints, but there are just too many things done wrong to really earn the Erlebnis status they asipre: Drinks are disproportioned/too expensive. Ask for a Campari on Ice? You get a glass with exactly 2cl, as if it was an expensive Malt Whisky. Are you kidding? Staff seems to be all foreign, and struggle with taking orders (having to take the menu away from under the guests ' nose to read it, so that they can take down the orders) Food is 30% more expensive than any other restaurant in the area (example a 13eur Schnitzel is 17,5 here). But it is not 30% better... Taking away plates from under the guests ' nose when not all people at the table have finished dining, is simply NOT done! After dinner drinks are simply too expensive 12 Euro for a 2 cl Schnapps? This is what you normally should expect to pay for a 25 year old, EUR 80/Bottle Malt Whisky. Not for a EUR 25/bottle of Schnapps. Waiters happily taking their own Tips no change was given back on cash payment Don 't get this wrong, this is a nice place with potential, and I wish it all the best, but there are too many issues that still need to be corrected to obtain their aspired status.

Schon seit Jahren sind wir jedes Jahr mehrmal in Königsleiten und auch immer zum Essen und Trinken in der Alpenrose. Gutes Essen, passende Getränke und natürlich die Musik vom Hannes persönlich sprechen für die Alpenrose. Auch im Sommer toll.
