This was our first visit to the Rising Sun and we weren't disappointed. 6 of us ate Sunday lunch . The portions were very generous. We chose The roast beef and turkey options which were served with peas green beans carrots and cauliflower. Mashed potatoe and roast potato...and stuffing and yorkshire pudding.....and generous servings of gravy. Extremely reasonably priced....we will certainly be back. Staff were very a... What hewittinspain doesn't like about Rising Sun:
Good points. There was plenty on your plate although the difference between a regular and small wasn't that much. Service was good and didn't take too long and it was nice sitting in the conservatory with the sun coming through. Not so good points- Tired decor, noticed all the carpet was ripped and taped back up on entrance, could do with a facelift. Meat was a little dry (dry Turkey, Lamb and Salty Gammon). Yorkshir... We had a great time at the Rising Sun. This place is perfect for those who enjoy a variety of snacks, and you can get four drinks for less than £15! We also enjoyed playing the games machine.
Friendly local pub, pleasant staff and landlord. Outdoor patio area to enjoy a relaxing drink in the lovely weather.

Yorkshire puddings were definitely not homemade despite being advertised as that. Overall i'll give this 6/10. We've had worse dinners and the food was better than Prince William over the road.
We live round the corner from the rising sun, and have just endured the nosiest firework display I can ever remember. Our 2 month old baby was woke by them, and having watched them out the window whilst trying to soothe her, it became very obvious that whoever selected the fireworks went for pure noise rather than a nice display. Not only were they ridiculously noisy but they seemed to string them out over a long period and no matter where we went in our house could not find a quiet corner to soothe our baby.
We visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch and it was quite busy, but we were still able to find a table. We had to wait 15-20 minutes for our food, but considering how busy it was, we didn't mind. The food was all prepared to our liking and was well worth the price. The staff promptly cleared our plates once we finished and checked in to make sure everything was satisfactory, which it was. Overall, we had a pleasant experience with good service and delicious food, and we will definitely be returning.
