Located in sleepy Wake Forest , this historic hot dog and burger shack has been pleasing regulars for over a century. Rumor has it that legendary golfer Arnold Palmer frequented the joint when a student (his eponymous drink may very well have been invented here) , and Archie Bunker’s Carroll O’Connor was a known fan. My friend picked up a to-go order for several of us and they forgot my chili-cheese fries. Several of my friends said their order was wrong (missing or wrong toppings on hotdogs). I took my hotdogs back to the restaurant and asked for fresh ones since they forgot my chili-cheese fries and the dogs were now cold and soggy. They were nice and gave me fresh hotdogs and fries but they gave me the smaller red hotdogs when I had specifically ordered all-beef hotdogs. Probably won't be back anytime soon.
Great hot dogs! I got an all beef hot dog with mustard and relish. I also got chili cheese fry and they were good too. I got my husband an all the way hot dog which he lovex.
This place has some great burgers in the area. Might be a little pricey but its Delicious. If your nearby please try this place!!
A great old school hot dog joint, with many other menu choices as well. They have been around for over a hundred years, owned and run by the same family. This was Arnold Palmer's favorite hangout when he was a young golfer at Wake Forest College. I ordered at the front counter and had my order before I got my change back in my wallet. Two hotdogs and an Arnold Palmer (sweet tea/lemonade combo). They have a game room in the back with additional seating, pool tables, pinball machines and video games. Really enjoyed the hotdogs and the overall feel of the place
Nostalgic burger shop. I like the cheese fries. They serve some amazing lemonade. Slightly more expensive than other fast food options.
