First time here. We tried the cheeseburger and chili hot dog. The both tasted great. We also ordered onion rings and fries. They were also great. The crew working there were very friendly and helpful in ordering. My husband loved the Arnold palmer and I loved the fresh squeezed lemonade. We will definitelybe back with the kids. One of my favorite places for a good hot dog since highschool. Their cheese fries are also really good. I love that I now can take my kids there. There aren't too many places that you go to when you're young, and then 20 years later get to make memories with your kids.
This place is a classic. Dogs, burgers and crispy crinkle cut fries. Get some cheese with the fries. Hasn 't changed a bit since I 've been going, 20+ years. As my grandson says, 'yummy buns '. Shades of Wake Forest College days.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and we tried the cheeseburger and the chili hot dog—both were delicious! We also ordered onion rings and fries, which were fantastic as well. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with our order. My husband really enjoyed the Arnold Palmer, and I loved the fresh-squeezed lemonade. We will definitely return with the kids!
This is a fantastic, classic hot dog spot that offers a variety of other menu options as well. They have been in business for over a century and are owned and operated by the same family. Notably, this was Arnold Palmer's favorite hangout when he was a young golfer at Wake Forest College. I placed my order at the front counter and received my food almost instantly, even before I had a chance to put my change away. I enjoyed two hot dogs along with an "Arnold Palmer" drink, which is a delightful mix of sweet tea and lemonade. There's also a game room at the back with extra seating, pool tables, pinball machines, and video games. I truly loved the hot dogs and the overall atmosphere of the place.
I had a fantastic grilled pimento cheese sandwich with bacon, accompanied by an Arnold Palmer. The famous hot dogs and the charming, nostalgic decor made it a perfect atmosphere for a hot dog joint. There’s even a game room in the back; it felt like stepping back in time. The menu is straightforward, and they boast an impressive 99 sanitation score. The only thing that could have enhanced the experience would have been a bit more of that classic Southern hospitality from the staff. It felt a bit too curt, with a "What do you want?" vibe.
