This restaurant is a great stop for anyone traveling north from Napier. It offers clean toilet facilities and a lovely view of the Wairoa River. If you're visiting during the right season, you can enjoy whitebait fritters. I recommend requesting your pastries to be warmed in the oven rather than microwaved. The establishment is licensed to serve liquor as well. It's definitely worth taking a break from driving here. View all feedback.

Of the beaten track cafe 287 thought we would support the locals. Unfortunately we arrived close to closing time, and were rushed to order, eat and leave. 2pm closing time I had the bacon and egg pie which was beautiful, pity on being rushed out.

Good food at honest prices; friendly helpful service; clean comfortable accommodation; excellent view from the deck; great chickens. It's not The Ritz, but it's all the better for that.

Good location; great views. Very friendly staff with good coffee. Food lacks imagination but still good.

The restaurant offers beautiful views and features a sizeable, fairly simple menu, but the food is fresh and flavorful. The food counter is well-stocked, and the caramel slice was particularly outstanding. Accessibility is good, with both steps and a ramp available. However, we found the prices to be a bit high. The service was friendly and accommodating.
