Welcome to Black Estate, the award-winning winery restaurant nestled in our Home Vineyard, one of three organic hillside vineyards in North Canterbury. We are dedicated to crafting wines that truly reflect the unique terroir of each site. Our single vineyard wines are made using organically and biodynamically grown fruit from our Home, Damsteep, or Netherwood vineyards. Hand-picked and fermented with vineyard derived yeast, our wines are free of additives or fining, with minimal sulphur added at bottling. Most of our wines are also unfiltered to preserve their character. As for our restaurant, we work closely with local suppliers to create seasonal dishes that are either organic, spray-free, or free-range when it comes to meat.
