Went here for the first time with my wife and friend. I was really excited to try this place, and it did not disappoint. The wine was the best I've had in a long time. The Esca burger was delicious. My friend loved the pear salad . Everything we had was great. It's great to see a restaurant like this in Valpo. View all feedback.

This is a great place to eat at. Yes, the food is pricey and serving portion is small, but the quality and taste of the food is outstanding! Quality over quantity anytime! Great atmosphere for a date night and great lunch if you want to eat outside. Service was good, can't complain, maybe be a little more smiley and nicer. We had the crab cake for appetizer and it tasted fresh not frozen, was a bit spicy for my wife, but i liked it! I had the hanger steak and was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well! The crispy potatoes that it came with was new to me and it did not disappoint. Salmon was very tasty! Will definitely come again and try out the other items on the menu. If you like quality food give this place a try.Kid-friendliness: They had plastic sippy cups for kids to prevent their drinks from spilling when knocked over.
Delicious food from starters to dessert service was attentive and friendly. Hanger steak pear salad and the chocolate cookie were my choices.
Amendment: the owner did reach out and offered to redo any dish that was unsatisfactory so if eating here and you have a problem, just let staff know. I will add that a couple told us when we walked in that their experience with scallops and chicken Marsala were a ten out of ten. He also let me know drink refills are free of charge. Food: fresh pasta very good, both our dishes weee very heavy handed on the salt. But I could tell the taste was there just need to lessen the salty. We had the braised short rib ravioli with red sauce. And the Carbanara. The carbanara looked beautiful but again...salty. I squeezed some lemon over it and added pepper and that helped. Drinks are not free refills and prices high. Ice tea was $3 for a little glass. Pear and goat cheese salad was very good however and I would definitely get that again. Ambiance is really cool. Small, boutique style vibe. Service was laid back.
Saturday night out and we order the shrimp and grits, scallops, and the maple pancetta brussel sprouts. The seafood was cooked to perfection and the flavors were so amazing. Thanks to Esca for making a special night more special.
