We were told about a Canadian Vietnam, while on the ferry from HCMC to V. Tau, to watch AFL Finale in this bar as many extra great staff food. He was here! We were late, drinks food for 6 hours cost us nothing. We came back today to watch another semi-finals and drove back to tea tonight. We loved it and felt so welcome by employees and locals. Thank you for a great time offshore! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Offshore:
The bar menu and food menu are very well priced and good value. The rooms are quite run down and for the money they charge, there are many better accommodation options in Vung Tau. View all feedback.
Had a few meals on the shore and was satisfied with the quality. The service was good, with a nice open air conditioning. You have a bar with bar girls. You wouldn't know if you were outside. So it is family friendly and singles friendly too. Prices are good for food and drinks.
Another, popular expat hangout which offers local and western food. The curries are tasty and you can get your greens hit by ordering an inexpensive serve of steamed veggies. Been here a couple of times; service is reasonably pro-active with the occasional slip up, but otherwise friendly and obliging.
Just behind the Rex Hotel in Vung Tau A large comfortable seeting area as well a a long bar and comfortable stools .. There is a wide range of drinks and well attended by all of the ladies working there. I was there over a few nights. Lucky enough to encounter the Roast night and treated myself to Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding...It was excellent. The customers are from varied backgrounds with expats, tourist and locals partaking of the wares. Very secure parking for Moto's
I 've visited the Offshore Bar Restaurant twice. I 've also easten their food and swilled drinks at the outdoor bar. Note that I have not stayed in any of the hotel rooms so I 'm not commenting on the hotel other than the place is keep very clean and is obviously managed professionally from the job that do maintaining the bathroom, patio, lobby, etc. In fact I would go so far as to say that I would even recommend the hotel to someone, especially a single guy as the place is setup to have space and comfort and their is a sprinkling of VN chicks [see below for caveat] around if I guy is too lazy to walk down the street to have someone to talk to. Let also say that the outdoor bar patio and the indoor bar pool room are very nice and I dare say one of the nicest layout I 've seen in VT. They serve an extensive top quality liquor bar and cold beer. Unfortunately not the coldest beer and I won 't give them any excuse as they have a top notch setup and equipment and they are serving semi-cold beer in semi-cold mugs. Freeze the mugs and the problem would be solved please. Too bad I can 't continue with compliments when it comes to the bar staff and the food I 've eaten there. Not cheaply priced but not outrageous either. The problem with the two meals I 've eaten there is that the servings, presentation and the execution was pretty lame for the price. No matter the reason it always is a bad idea to put a tiny little serving of chips [fries] on huge round plate beside a sandwich that looks like something you got served during the cafeteria line at school. I dare say the sandwich and the small mound of chips did not even make a dent in the space of the big plate it was placed upon. I ate all of it and was embarrassed to say I was thinking about where I could stop along the way and grab another bite on my long walk back to Phuong 2. The other meal I ate there was so unimpressive I can 't even remember what I ate, I just remember thinking...Geeze two times here, no more. I should like to point out that I was ogling the steak, chips and veggie entre that guy next to me was working on and then I checked the price of that steak and it only augmented my rebuke of The Offshore being Offed from my eating list from now on. Two tries was enough. Now the last thing. The bar and its female bar staff...for a place that obviously is positioning itself as a watering hole hotel stop for single, travelling expat guys, I can only say.... 'sad stop for a single guy '. I did some Q A with the bar staff manager and I got enough to understand the place. The bar staff that sits on it 's rear and does nothing is almost entirely nothing but stare and make surely, odd and sometimes rude statements assumptions to me while at the bar are all the sister, cousin, daughters or whatever of the bar manager. The primary function appears to be how far they can stretch the tiny dresses that belong on a gal four sizes smaller while keeping the bar stools perpetually warm and then talking to the patron, me, like I 'm some type of desperate, lonely, looser that obviously thinks that they and every lazy gal in the bar ....including the overweight ones are all some gift to male eyes. Man it 's one thing to be ...what they are ....it 's another thing to just have not one gram of 'je ne sais quoi ' Geez what a bunch of pathetic, nepotism run afoul of what should be a great expat bar to stop in and have a cold one or six. I can 't really stomach going back again not because of the mediocre food but the mediocre, pathetic, rude, fat and homely bar chicks working the gorgeous outside patio bar. Vietnam has a hot chick about every 50 steps and somehow through nepotism this bar has managed to drop the average by a square kilometer. I 'm giving the place two stars for the property which is nice and I can see taking a client there for a biz drink on the patio before the bar girls from hell arrive... but not to eat...just saying it like I see it.
We've been walking slowly for 4 months, eating local cuisine 98% of the time. So when we walk at the offshore bar
