That is a restaurant that is visited by local and mountain hikers. it is about an hour and a quarter walk from ste croix, or they can drive up the narrow, twisted road that leads to it through kuhweiden with very few passes, so not for. the faint-herted. the restaurant has no electricity and part of its charm is that it is quite primitiv and only a limited selection served in traditional Swiss food, but eating is good. the fondue and rosti are both excellent choices and cost no poor and a bit, but they need to buy a drink, as there is no lead water. we spent about 50 francs for a lunch for two (no starter or dessert) that in Swiss understood is not bad. we go every time we visit the Swiss, and the last time we made the trek up there was a disappointment because they were booked with a big party about the arrival. we felt that they were quite brutal and not very helpful that the place was left when we arrived (about 11:30) and we thought that they might fit us before the party arrived, but they were shameful that they could not. we went to a restaurant that was down the mountain, which was not so good, so in future we will be phone and book (they have a Facebook page with details when they are opened etc.) they only open during the summer months, as they are probably inappropriate in winter.) esel and cows in the surrounding pastures are present, and paths through the meadows over the restaurant where probably one comes. I only know about this restaurant because I have family in the Swiss and they presented to me many years ago. the ride up there is quite nerve-bubbing, but if they stand up for an adventure, then this is worth picking up a nice day, as it is cold and mice there in the clouds (also in summer) and many of the charm is in the view.
