Les Voyageurs - Vogue

This is a very old establishment, newly taken over owned by a family of parent, brother, sisters, boyfriends. The team really could not do enough for us and made our stay very pleasant. There are a small number of bedrooms and a lively restaurant/ bar. Our room was huge, spotlessly clean and everything worked well. There is a swimming pool in a garden out the back which offered welcome relief from the scorching sun. On Friday night, restaurant punters were entertained by live singing in the bar but the rest of the week it was fairly quiet at night. The pizzas looked and smelled great but we enjoyed delicious pasta (do try ravioli with Emmenthal). Ice cold rose wine washed this down a treat. Breakfast was rather basic bread and jam with croissant and simple fruit and coffee. A traditional French continental breakfast, quite overpriced for what it was. Sadly there is no tradition (like in England) of a kettle in the room so every coffee was charged at full rate. The little village of Vogue Gare was presumably built as the nearest spot for the main Vogue train station, hence the name (although the track does continue to Vogue village). The old station has been repurposed as a school and the track a magnificent cycling trail going to Ruoms and beyond. While Vogue is a beautiful old village on the river, Vogue Gare is less interesting, with a few shops and cafes, mostly out on the main road, and a bustling, colourful market which completely occupies the town each Monday. It is well placed for visitors to enjoy the activities on the river or cycling.

Hotel-Restaurant on the top! we had to book early August for days, reception at the top, pool access to relax from with sun lounger to lizardate and possibility to sip a drink to the pool terrace, beautiful room large space for a hotel room with multifunction shower, breakfast at the top reception with the smile in the morning and always a nice little sentence to start the day of the good foot, restaurant on the noon and evening type galette really good and good difficult to get hungry again when you get out of there! brief I recommend without hesitation for a stay in ardèche.
