Back here for the third summer in order, this place deserves all credit. totally friendly and caring owners family, friendly and attentive staff. excellent eating, good wine, legendary zirbenschnaps. excellent activities for children and adults. If travel advisers would allow ratings of...7, this place would be 7, without doubt. booked for the next year. very recommended to visit!

We found the food quite good except two in our party (of four) became very ill shortly after the meal. The photo of the salad bar shows an outstanding array offering many choices. The evening we dined (late August) the salad bar offered perhaps seven or eight total choices of items. We reasoned that perhaps one of the salad dressings might have caused the illness. The two who got sick had the same salad dressing.The meal choices are excellent; the food was well prepared and tasty. The service was average; we often had to wait quite some time for our waitress. We were a party of four; three of us were served at the same time; the fourth member's dinner arrived some twenty minutes later. We did understand the reason for this.We found the portions VERY AMPLE. AS Petscnighof is also a family resort, there are all sorts of little ones running around. So, please expect some activity and noise during your meal. However, in the winter, it is only a restaurant and bed-and-breakfast. Dinners in winter should be more quiet, intimate affairs.We enjoyed dining al fresco, and the views are impressive. Their home-made beer is excellent, and we recommend it. They offer a 200 ml glass of beer for children; that we found charming.We think in general that Petschnighof is a good restaurant; we just found it a little pricey and the fact that two in our party became ill made us downrate from four stars to three.Other reviewers offer five stars; we respectfully disagree. A five-star dining experience is exceptional, and we don't think Petschnihof is in that category.Reservations on some summer weekend nights is recommended.

That is an absolutely amazing location. excellent location in the mountains. catches most days of sun in Austria. excellent service, also from your own family. excellent eating and drinks. very relaxed atmosphere. excellent activities for children rides, cannons take care of...from, hiking on due to suitable for children, archery, football, swimming, henna tattoos, children club, etc. and for the elders, check their e-bikes and ask the owner gerwald for a guided tour: all at a perfect location, we enjoyed 2 weeks vacation, which were very close to perfection.
