So, I took my friend from Sicily to Little Italy Restaurant. Had a great meal seated outside. The owner, who's parents are first generation immigrants from Sicily came out and spoke with us. Turns out my buddy is from the same town as his parents. Nice conversation ensued and we both thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Will certainly come back next time I'm in town! View all feedback.
What Isaac Rossi doesn't like about Little Italy Restaurants:
The staff was exceptionally attentive, however the food handling practices are dangerous. It is never alright to use the same utensils for seafood as other proteins. Serving food on laundered linen is problematic as well. Moreover, this is the level of quality put out on mother's day while the owner was present. View all feedback.
For the price, I don't think this place is worth it. Located right in the heart of downtown, there are a ton of restaurants taking over parking spots to accommodate outdoor dining. This restaurant is no different. I got the lasagna al forno and for over $20, the quality of the pasta did not warrant the price tag. I thought the dish was average at best. It's a pretty meaty lasagna but I don't think the pasta was anything special. Also, we ordered takeout and received no utensils or butter for the house bread. Not that the bread was anything to write home about but it would've been nice to have some butter with the bread!
The last time I was there it was pretty good, me and my party had received friendly service, went by there the other day and this restaurant seemed like it was permanently closed
I really really wanted to love their lasagna but I don 't think you can fully enjoy a delicious Italian meal knowing it wasn 't prepared with much care and it was microwaved when it 's $20. The sauce tasted fresh and good. It was meaty. The middle part of the dish was hard, tough, you know what you get when you heat up food for too long in the microwave. Why couldn 't they just put it in the oven if it was pre-made and told me wait time is 20 minutes instead of less than 10? I don 't understand... I should have gone to Strings or pizza factory for a bigger portion/not burned in the middle. I don 't mind waiting longer I really don 't. I ordered thru phone and got told the wait time is 7 minutes. I should have questioned that. The guy on the phone got my number but never called me to tell me it was ready. When it was 20 minutes in I decide to call just to check I 'm not trying to be rude. He said it was ready. When I got there the place looked like a mess and everyone working there was running around. Some guys cleaning the windows and fixing the restaurant front and a sign said closed I was confused. I went inside to pick up my order but I didn 't feel comfortable at all. The guy seemed hurried and annoyed. I didn 't get eating utensils or butter for my bread. It tasted good for a lasagna in Visalia but I expected way more for $20. It didn 't even look great but I hope that 's because I ordered take out. I hope they 're not out here microwaving lasagna for dine in customers I really hope not.
We ordered the mozzarella sticks, chicken Marsala pasta, and the pasta Bolognese. Mozzarella sticks are made in house never frozen! Staff was super friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our time there
Happy 50th Birthday to ME! I had the Fruitti de Mare and it was delicious! Was loaded with mussels, prawns, clams, calamari and giant scallops. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was outstanding as usual. Our waiter Richard was great and our water glasses were always filled. The tiramisu was delicious. This is a great place to eat.
