Mannino's - Virginia Beach

If I could rate this place lower, I absolutely would. It wasn't just the slow service or the fact that the person who cooked the calamari clearly didn't know how to dry the seafood before breading it, causing the coating to fall off. What really stood out was the blatant racism. We requested to sit at the bar to watch the football game, and just two minutes before the game started, a couple of white guys walked in and insisted that the TV be switched to baseball, threatening to leave otherwise. We tried to explain that we were already seated to watch the football game, but...

We had one of the best Italian meals we've ever experienced (and I have Italian heritage). The service was a bit slow, but that’s understandable given the current staffing challenges. Every single dish we ordered was excellent. I enjoyed the spicy four cheese ravioli along with a local beer. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Virginia Beach or Hampton Roads.

During our recent trip to Virginia Beach, we decided to try Mannino's, which was one of the restaurants recommended by our hotel. Although we weren't specifically looking for Italian cuisine, we chose it simply because we needed a place to eat. To our delight, it turned out to be a fantastic choice. This award-winning restaurant exceeded all our expectations with its fresh, handmade, and authentic dishes. Be sure to make a reservation; we booked ours the day before, which allowed us to enjoy a wonderful meal during our trip.

The food was amazing. However, the inch-long fake nails worn by our young waiter were quite off-putting and detracted from his serving skills.

This place is fantastic, with outstanding service and incredible flavors. The Crabtini is absolutely divine, and the Penne a la Vodka is the best I’ve ever tasted! Liz provided excellent service. Thank you! I highly recommend this restaurant—10/10!
